In the context of the , we must reflect deeply upon the true nature of achievement. If we seek success in the external world—in fame, wealth, or status—it is like building a castle upon the sand. No matter how magnificent or opulent such a structure may appear, it lacks a foundation. When the winds of impermanence blow and the tides of rise, these external achievements are swept away, returning to the very sand from which they were formed. They are fragile, unable to withstand the slightest challenge, and ultimately offer no refuge for the soul.
True achievement, however, is born from the diligent practice of grounding oneself in reality. It comes from the continuous process of purification, layer by layer, until the heart is clear. When you cultivate your inner skills, your meditative concentration naturally manifests. No matter how fierce the storms of the outside world may become, the skills you have cultivated within cannot be stolen, nor can they be shaken. They remain as firm and immovable as a mountain. This is the strength of one who has attained the , where the power of meditative concentration is fully realised.
To reach this state of stability, one must walk the path of the Six Paramitas. These are the essential practices that guide a practitioner toward the shore of liberation: Giving, Discipline, Patience, Diligent Practice, Meditation, and Wisdom. As you walk this path, your meditative concentration will mature, and the light of Wisdom will manifest. This is the moment of becoming an awakened being, marking the true beginning of your work to save beings.
is not a trophy to be kept for one's own glory or personal gain. It is not sought for the sake of fame or profit. Rather, the true purpose of attaining this state is to fulfil the vow to save beings and guide them toward rebirth in the of Ultimate Bliss. Only when your practice is dedicated to the salvation of others, and when you guide them to leave suffering behind and find happiness, can you truly be said to attain Buddhahood. This is the ultimate achievement of the Buddha's path.
