The magpies sing joyfully upon the branches, their voices echoing with a promise of auspicious tidings. You might wonder, what is the source of this ? It is the arrival of the , a message of hope that reaches us before the event itself. The birds are merely the first to carry this news to our ears, signalling that something truly sacred is about to unfold.
When you engage in group prostrations, you must do so with a sincere and focused heart. As you bow, your entire Body-Mind-Spirit is bathed in the radiant Buddha-light. The sound of the Buddha-name chanting fills the air, never ceasing, creating a sanctuary of peace. Within this space, your are surrounded by this gentle, healing light. It is our deepest hope that this light will soften their hearts, helping to resolve the conflict and grievances of the past.
In these moments, you are not alone. Before your eyes, the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are present. The Western Three Saints and the vast ocean of Bodhisattvas are gathered here, orbiting the Dharma-Nature Land while chanting the name of . All those connected by karmic affinity in the Dharma-Nature Land, especially the spirits, are present. They join the fourfold assembly of disciples in this act of devotion.
Group prostrations are a collective effort. While the standard practice is to prostrate every four lines of the chant, when you are in the Dharma-Nature Land, you should follow the rhythm of the group. Whether the practice calls for prostrating every two, three, or four lines, the most important thing is to align your heart with the collective. Every sound of the Buddha-name is an opportunity to gather your scattered thoughts, purify your spirit, and elevate your .
I ask all of you, my students, to bring forth a heart of utmost sincerity and respect. When you prostrate, do so with the intention of helping all beings resolve their karmic debts. Through this shared devotion, we create a path for all to leave suffering behind and find true happiness. Namo Amituofo.
