Doing Only One Thing in a Lifetime, Beings' Affairs at the Time of Buddhahood
The hibiscus is a flower that one can find in almost every corner of the world. It is a resilient bloom that flourishes throughout the spring and summer seasons, displaying a diverse array of colours and adapting gracefully to its surroundings. Because it has existed since ancient times and continues to thrive across varying climates and changing conditions, we can see that it possesses a remarkable vitality. It is a flower that brings beauty to the world without causing harm to any other living thing.
In the same way, the continuation of the Buddha’s teachings must mirror this natural adaptability. To truly benefit beings, the must be able to align with the Causal Conditions of the world and respond directly to the needs of those who are suffering. It must be accessible, ensuring that every person has the opportunity to learn about and the of Ultimate Bliss.
In this challenging age of the Dharma’s decline, it is our collective mission to ensure that the Pure Land teachings are widely available. We must work to help countless suffering beings leave suffering behind and find true happiness. By allowing the Pure Land path to permeate the hearts and minds of the people, we create an environment where the sacred name of Namo Amituofo can be heard by all.
When people hear this holy name, they find a spiritual anchor. They begin to develop a sincere desire to chant the Buddha’s name and seek rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This is the ultimate goal of our practice: to provide a path of liberation that is both profound and universally reachable.
Your practice of learning the Buddha’s teachings should follow this same principle of resilience and consistency. Regardless of where you are or what time it is, you must strive to hear the Buddha’s name within your own heart. By engaging in 24/7 chanting, you ensure that the Buddha-name continues in your mind without interruption.
This is a vital and effective method for stabilizing your Body-Mind-Spirit. It serves as a powerful shield, protecting you from the disturbances caused by other beings or negative influences. If you can keep your heart unmoved, remaining unaffected by the people, events, and environments that surround you, you will preserve your original intention and your unwavering faith in the Buddha. This is how you ensure that your practice remains continuous and unbroken.
For the past ten kalpas, Namo Amituofo has relied upon the Forty-eight Great Vows to save immeasurable and boundless beings, guiding them safely into the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Through the sacred work performed at this temple, countless beings from the spiritual realms have received , finding relief from their deep and enduring suffering.
It is my sincere hope that the fourfold assembly will continue to engage in diligent practice. May you follow the guidance of Namo Amituofo, Practitioner Su, and myself, as we work together to save countless suffering beings. May you find peace and happiness in this present life, and may you ultimately be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
