The present moment is the most vital aspect of our spiritual journey. It is not merely a measurement of time, but the very threshold of eternity. Whether we are walking the path of the Buddha or wandering in the cycle of rebirth, everything depends on how we hold the present moment in our hearts. It is the foundation upon which our entire practice is built.
What exactly is the present moment? It is a single thought, a fleeting instant, the snap of your fingers, or the passing of a single second. It is the smallest unit of existence, yet it contains the entirety of our potential for change. We often lose ourselves in the shadows of the past or the anxieties of the future, forgetting that the only time we can truly practise is right now.
In every present moment, you are faced with a profound choice. If you choose to think good thoughts, speak good words, and perform good deeds, you are walking the straight and narrow path. By doing so, you accumulate merit and virtue, and your true self begins to shine forth naturally. This is the essence of your practice: to remain consistent and move forward with a sincere heart, allowing the light of your inner nature to guide your way.
However, if you allow yourself to dwell on evil thoughts or commit harmful acts, you are planting the seeds of the hells. Such actions lead to the bitter fruit of suffering and entangle the soul in darkness. Therefore, you must be vigilant, for every moment is a critical turning point that determines the direction of your soul and the quality of your future.
Every present moment is a space that opens up, offering all beings a chance to be saved and to receive . It is a precious opportunity for those who are suffering to leave their pain behind and find true happiness. Every moment is also a chance to chant Buddha's name. When you recite the name with a sincere heart, you allow to lead you to be reborn in the of Ultimate Bliss.
Every present moment is an opportunity for Awakening. When your true self takes charge, you are no longer bound by the illusions of the world. You become free to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, where you can continue your practice in the presence of the Buddha. Cherish every moment, for it is the key to your ultimate liberation.
