During the , we gather to invite all beings to listen to the Buddha's discourse. In a split second, goodness arises, and in a split second, evil takes root. This is the nature of our existence. In a split second, life begins, and in a split second, death occurs. We must realise that our entire reality is shaped by these fleeting moments of intention.
Before this transformation of the heart, there is only sorrow and the weight of past . However, after this transformation, there is only and the lightness of liberation. You might ask: who initiates this change? Is it you, or is it the beings around you? Conversely, who fails to initiate this change? Is it the beings, or is it you? You must understand that the responsibility for this transformation lies with your own heart.
Your heart must possess clarity and wisdom. This transformation depends entirely upon your own mind. When you transform yourself, the beings around you are also transformed. When both you and the beings find balance and peace, the cycle of suffering begins to dissolve. When a thought moves in an instant, your heart must be aware and wise enough to recognise its nature.
To chant Buddha's name without attachment, to be mindful without clinging—this is the true path. To be mindful of the Buddha while remaining free from the turbulence of wandering thoughts is the mark of great cultivation. When you can maintain this state, you are truly practising the . Lead the beings forward with this steady heart, and you will find peace in every place you go.
To all beings in this Dharma assembly, please hold the name of Namo Amituofo in your hearts. Follow the assembly in chanting Buddha's name, and you will enter the radiant light of the Buddha. The Buddha is right before your eyes, waiting to welcome you. By maintaining this sincere practice, you will surely enter the of Ultimate Bliss.
