Naturally So
People in this world are constantly driven by their desires. Because they are deeply entangled in the seven emotions and the , they are always creating goals, worrying about the present, obsessing over the future, and making endless plans and schemes. This cycle of wanting and striving keeps the heart restless and the mind clouded, preventing one from finding true peace.
In contrast, a true practitioner seeks to be free from such desires. When one’s Six Roots are pure, one is no longer tethered to the burdens of the past or the anxieties of the future. One dwells only in the present moment. What exists in this present moment? In truth, there is nothing at all. This is the nature of emptiness. When something arises, you simply know it for what it is, without attachment or judgment. This state of being is the result of deep practice. It is true freedom, and it is the manifestation of your true self. Your true self reveals itself only when you are fully present.
If you find that you cannot yet reach this state of being where the mind is empty and still, you must work to subdue your wandering thoughts. To prevent the mind from falling into idle thinking or confusion, you should rely on these methods:
By following these steps, you will become entirely pure and transparent, eventually allowing you to see your true nature. This is the ultimate goal of our practice: to return to the original, luminous state of the heart. This message was recorded by the Buddha's disciple, Venerable HaiZe.
