In the practice of the path, one must first initiate the effort from within. It is only when you exert your own strength and sincerity that the Buddha’s power can truly manifest and provide the necessary support for your spiritual growth. Without your own commitment, the of the Buddha remain like rain falling on a covered vessel; the water cannot enter unless the lid is opened.
At the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, you are blessed with an exceptionally high-quality environment for your practice. ’s power is present 24/7, constantly bestowing blessings upon all who are here. Furthermore, we are fortunate to have strong and vigilant protectors who look after the entire community. Despite these ideal conditions, many practitioners still find it difficult to take charge of their own minds. Your self-effort often appears insufficient, and it is my sincere hope that you will awaken to this reality.
During our lectures, the Buddha’s power is actively at work. Every session delivered by Practitioner Su is profound and precise. These teachings are not merely words; they are mirrors held up to your current state of practice, clearly identifying where you stand and, more importantly, where you need to improve. I hope that you will listen with an open heart and take these words deeply into your .
To truly benefit from these teachings, you must:
When you change your actions and refine your conduct, you will find that the benefits are not limited to yourself alone. Your transformation ripples outward, bringing peace and liberation to the , attached spirits, and even the demon crowds residing within your own body and mind.
The Thrice Yearning Ceremonies held here are truly magnificent. The scale of the spiritual is such that those in the spiritual realms who witness it are filled with endless praise and awe. Those who receive this Chao Du are deeply grateful for the Buddha’s grace in saving them from their suffering. This is a testament to the power of the Dharma when it is practised with a unified and compassionate heart.
The fourfold assembly of disciples—monks, nuns, laymen, and laywomen—plays a vital role as the human participants in this ceremony. The sound of your chanting is of utmost importance. Fortunately, you have Practitioner Su to lead you, demonstrating a heart that is dedicated to saving all beings—a heart that never retreats, no matter the challenges faced.
I urge the fourfold assembly to once again rouse your self-effort. You must strive to overcome the obstacles that hinder your progress, particularly the state of that clouds your awareness. You must learn to enter the spiritual space with clarity and focus. If you can overcome these internal barriers, your practice will take a significant leap forward.
Please, I ask the fourfold assembly to rise to the challenge. Make a determined effort to break through your limitations. Diligently chant the name of Namo Amituofo. When your chanting reaches a state of true accomplishment, that will be the moment your practice reaches its fruition. Remember, the Buddha’s power is always there, supporting you in every moment. Namo Amituofo.
