The Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre is a unique sanctuary that provides dual benefits for both the living and the spirits. For those of us in the human world, this centre offers a precious opportunity to engage in practice, realise our true nature, and secure our rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. It is also a place where we can resolve karmic conflicts and perform to help suffering beings.
For the spirits in the unseen realms, the centre serves as a beacon of hope. Through the , where himself presides, spirits are guided toward rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss or are helped to ascend to the human or heavenly realms. This centre exists as a space where the spiritual realms and the human world overlap. Within this sacred environment, you are able to do what a spirit without a body cannot: you can engage in rigorous purification and work to rediscover your original, true nature.
The spiritual realms are not a single, uniform place. Because the quality of one's spirit varies, these beings exist in different dimensions of space. This is in accordance with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. The more purified, kind, and virtuous a spirit becomes, the more refined the space they inhabit. Conversely, those who are heavily burdened by attachments and impurities will naturally gravitate toward darker, more constrained dimensions.
We now understand that the existence of space is not limited to the six realms of existence or the four holy states. Within these ten directions, there are countless, infinitely layered spaces. When a spirit reaches a state of absolute purity and goodness, having shed every trace of defilement, that spirit naturally radiates light in all directions. Their spiritual powers become unobstructed, and they attain the state of an awakened being who has achieved Buddhahood. This, too, is in accordance with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, which holds true in every corner of the universe.
If a spirit remains heavily stained by attachments, their body will lack light and appear dark and gloomy. These are the beings of the demon realms. It is important to understand that demons cannot disturb a Buddha. This is because a Buddha is one who has achieved perfect meditative concentration. They are unmoved, remaining in a state of absolute stillness. They are not swayed or shaken by any internal or external conditions. Furthermore, because a Buddha has no ego, the demon crowds have no way to control or disrupt their mind. Therefore, the Buddha is naturally able to subdue the demon crowds.
The sky that we see with our physical eyes is merely a small part of the truth. In reality, there are heavens beyond heavens, and these heavens are infinitely layered. Within the vastness of space, there are countless heavens, each existing in its own dimension. Throughout infinite days and ages, these countless spaces and heavens have existed side by side, never interfering with one another and never causing harm. This is in accordance with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way.
I invite you to open your heart, to expand it until it is boundless. Open your mind until it is infinite. The nature of the heavens is exactly like this. It is often said that the heart can encompass the great void and that its capacity can cover the entire universe. This refers to the ability of the mind to embrace the infinite. It also signifies that the mind and the vastness of the Realm have merged into one. This is the heart of one who has realised their true nature and attained Buddhahood. Namo Amituofo.
