's discourse: My children, do you truly know how to chant the name of Namo Amituofo? Is your chanting merely a mental note, or is it spoken by your mouth? Is it a harmonious union of both heart and mouth? When you listen to the Buddha-name with your ears, do your heart, mouth, and body all chant together in perfect unison?
When we speak of , we are not referring only to the physical form that you see in the mirror. The body is a vast, interconnected universe. It encompasses the countless cells that make up your physical structure, your internal organs, and the life-giving blood flowing within you. It also includes the various beings residing within your body, such as your , attached spirits, and even demon crowds. If you can reach a state where all these beings within you are also chanting Namo Amituofo, then your practice has truly achieved success.
How, then, can you chant in a way that inspires all these beings to join you in this sacred act? The secret lies in the cultivation of a selfless heart. You must practise with , letting go of the ego that clings to personal gain. You must practise with no-thought, reaching a state of stillness where the mind is not distracted by worldly concerns. You must practise with selflessness, having not even the slightest intention for your own benefit, but instead, dedicating your entire being to the welfare of all beings.
When you chant with such purity, the beings within your body will feel the sincerity of your heart. They will be transformed by your devotion and moved to chant along with you. You must simply chant straight ahead, with every thought focused on the Buddha, until your heart becomes empty and clear.
As you continue this practice, you will realise that the Buddha is present everywhere. You will see the Buddha in your heart, in your mouth, in your body, and in your ears. Consequently, the beings within you will also learn to hold the Buddha in their hearts, mouths, bodies, and ears. In this way, every part of you is engaged in the practice of chanting.
By doing this, you are not only awakening the Buddha nature within yourself, but you are also awakening the Buddha nature within all the beings residing in your body. Every cell, every spirit, every karmic creditor, and even the demon crowds will begin to chant. They will start to radiate a brilliant, golden light. Through this process, you will realise your own true nature, and you will also facilitate the purification and awakening of all the beings within you.
When the time comes for , the spirits of these beings within you become part of the countless manifestations of the Buddha. This is the precious and rare achievement of Practitioner Su, who has realised their true nature and attained the through the human body.
