Buddhas and Bodhisattvas provide countless treasures to assist all sentient beings in their journey to leave suffering behind. These treasures take many forms, each designed to guide us toward the truth. They include the sacred sutras, which contain the wisdom of the ages; powerful mantras, which cleanse the mind and spirit; Dharma talks and lectures, which clarify the path of practice; and the various innate abilities that manifest as one progresses on the spiritual path.
However, among all these methods, there is one that stands above the rest. It is the most convenient, the most direct, and the most effective. It is a treasure that is available to you at any moment, whenever you need it: the six-character name of .
Chanting the name of Namo Amituofo is not merely a practice; it is the king of mantras. When you dedicate yourself to this practice, you are tapping into the infinite of the Buddha. If you can achieve —a state of deep, unwavering meditative concentration—then your rebirth in the of Ultimate Bliss is assured.
Chanting the Buddha's name is the essential condition for reaching that sacred realm. It requires that you develop Bodhicitta, the heart of , and maintain a single-minded focus on Namo Amituofo. Even if you only chant with sincere intent at the very last moment of your life, you will be met and guided by the Buddha to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
Today, at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, we are witnessing and experiencing this truth firsthand. This is truly an opportunity that is difficult to encounter even in millions of years. While the spirit world has already begun to reap the immense benefits of this practice, the human world remains largely unaware of its power. There is still much work to be done to spread this Dharma affinity far and wide.
This is a mission that benefits countless beings in both the human and heavenly realms. Those who receive this teaching and put it into practice will gain tremendous and profound benefits.
When you engage in this work, you must remember the importance of selfless Generosity. Practise without attachment to the results and without seeking personal gain. This is the mark of a practitioner with great strength and great conduct. Always remember that the sacred name of Namo Amituofo is available to you at any time. Keep it in your heart and on your lips 24/7, never letting it slip away. By doing so, you remain in constant connection with the Buddha, ensuring that your path remains clear, bright, and filled with the light of wisdom.
