The End of the Cycle: A Father's Journey

Lay Practitioner Tong Chun-mu, the father of Lay Practitioner Tong Yu-ren, sought Spiritual Deliverance through the assistance of Lay Practitioner Liu Min-xian. This interview was recorded on April 14, 2023, at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, where he reflects on his transition to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.

Lay Practitioner Tong Chun-mu speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I have wandered through one station of life after another, and now, finally, I can stop. I never realised that I had been reincarnated for such an incredibly long time. Now that I see the truth, my heart is heavy with sorrow. Yet, I am fortunate. In this life, I encountered a noble person—my son's employer, Liu Min-xian. Through his connection to this centre, I had the opportunity to be guided by Practitioner Su to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, finally ending my long, weary journey through the cycle of rebirth."

A Lifetime of Unconscious Wandering

"Looking back at my past, I realise how mundane and empty my life truly was. I did not understand the Dharma; I understood nothing. I lived simply to eat, to survive, and to toil away to support my family. I spent my days working until my bones ached, thinking that this was all there was to existence. In the end, I left this world with nothing. I brought no wealth, no status, and no peace with me when I departed. It was a life spent in total ignorance of the true nature of reality."

"I originally wanted to stay close to my son. I could not let go of the emotions of this world, thinking that by staying by his side, my heart would find peace. How wrong I was! I did not realise that we were already living in two completely different worlds. After being guided by Practitioner Su to this place, I began to listen to the Dharma talks. It was only then that I understood that our realms of existence were fundamentally different. How could I have expected to rely on my son when I was no longer part of his physical world?"

The Clarity of the Dharma

"After being guided by Practitioner Su from that space, I spent my time listening to the Dharma talks. At first, I could not understand them; the concepts were foreign to my spirit. But slowly, the meaning became clear. Only then did I begin to let go of my attachments to my family and stop looking back at this world with longing. The Dharma is like a light that pierces through the fog of ignorance."

"I did not know what the cycle of rebirth was before, but now I do. Practitioner Su explains the Dharma so clearly. I have seen many spirits here seeking Spiritual Deliverance, and only then did I truly understand how painful this cycle is. It is no wonder that everyone is grasping at this chance to seek liberation. The suffering of the world is vast, and without the guidance of a true master, one is destined to wander forever."

A Final Wish for My Family

"I am doing very well now. I had thought about staying for a while longer, but after listening to the teachings, I knew I should go to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss as soon as possible. That is why I made the decision today. Everything before me is filled with golden light; it is truly beautiful. It is a place of pure joy and absolute clarity."

"I hope my son will also learn the Dharma and bring his boss along with him. Everyone must come to the Western Land so that we never have to reincarnate again. This is the only true path to liberation. I am eternally grateful to Practitioner Su and to all those who made this deliverance possible. Namo Amituofo."
