An Interview with Zhou Enlai in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss (Second Visit)
This is a record of an interview with Lay Practitioner Wang Deying, who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her transition from the cycle of rebirth to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxin, on November 29, 2024.
Lay Practitioner Wang Deying speaks:
". When I finally made the decision to go to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, my entire being began to experience a transformation of energy. It was a warmth I had never felt before in my life. I knew immediately that it was the Buddha shining His light upon me, granting me the courage to finally let go and depart from the world I had known for so long.
When I stood before the Buddha, I could not help but fall to my knees. Tears streamed down my face as I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude—not just to the Buddha, but for the very Causal Conditions that brought me to this magnificent Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. In this pure realm, the Buddha-light washes over me, layer upon layer, purifying every part of my soul.
Before my eyes, I see flowing waters and majestic, dignified pavilions. No matter which direction I look, the scenery is so breathtaking that I cannot help but marvel at it. As I gaze upon this beauty, my entire being feels refreshed and cool. Since arriving in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I have not experienced a single affliction. Everything I see is perfect, and even my laughter comes naturally, without any effort or hidden sorrow.
Before this, I was lost in a state of darkness, wandering endlessly. I kept walking and walking, desperately trying to find my family, hoping against hope that we could be reunited. I searched and searched, refusing to accept the reality that I could no longer be with them in the way I once was. During those moments of intense suffering, I am deeply grateful that a brilliant light appeared to bring me hope. It guided me, embraced me, and allowed me to be reborn.
It was only after I became clear-headed in the Buddha-land that I realised it was the Buddha and Practitioner Su who had saved me. I also owe so much to my relatives in the human world who performed the Chao Du for me. Life passes by in the blink of an eye. Before I left, I was not prepared, but what must come will come. After all the struggling and the clinging, I have finally passed through the darkest of times.
Now, there is nothing but light before me. As I look upon the great Namo Amituofo, my heart is filled with nothing but gratitude. Through this process, I have come to realise that in the past, I was simply too attached. It was that very attachment that made me want to hold on so tightly to things that were already slipping away.
The only way I can repay the Buddha's grace now is to study the diligently with Him. To my family, please be happy for me, for I have reached the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I have changed so much; I am so much clearer now, and I am no longer suffering at all. Please, I ask you to express my deepest gratitude to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre.
The Buddha and the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss are real—they are right here before my eyes. I truly hope that all of you will have the Causal Conditions to believe in the Buddha and to practise the Dharma. Do not let yourselves be bound by your own attachments any longer; you must find the strength to walk out of that darkness.
Life is very short; it ends in the blink of an eye. In this state of profound gratitude, I will follow the Buddha faithfully. I am so thankful for this magnificent Causal Condition. Namo Amituofo."
