Light is something that all beings naturally cherish. It possesses the profound ability to illuminate the deepest darkness, bringing with it both hope and a clear sense of direction. When there is light, you no longer need to grope forward in the shadows, nor do you need to remain trapped in the gloom of uncertainty. Light provides the clarity required to navigate the path of life with confidence and peace.
Many people are unaware that they possess an inherent true self. This true self is originally luminous and flawless, containing no dark corners whatsoever. However, because of various afflictions, a lack of understanding, and the heavy accumulated over countless lifetimes, this natural brilliance has been obscured. It is like a mirror covered in dust; the light is still there, but it cannot shine through the layers of accumulated debris.
The essence of your practice is to put in the work from within your own heart. By maintaining the Buddha-name, you ensure that your thoughts remain pure and continuous. As you chant , you allow the energy of the Buddha to enter your life. When your heart is free from messy thoughts, your inherent goodness manifests, and the light begins to arise once more.
When your heart is pure and filled with goodness, this state naturally influences every aspect of your existence. This purification extends to:
These entities are manifestations of your past karma. When they are touched by the light of your practice, they are able to remove defilements and attain purity, which in turn allows them to generate their own light. As your spirit becomes settled and your soul finds peace, your Body-Mind-Spirit will begin to reflect this radiance. When your body shines with this inner light, it signifies that the light has truly arisen, effectively breaking through the darkness of ignorance. Namo Amituofo.
