The Thirst for Spiritual Nourishment

Just as the parched earth longs for the sweet rain to fall, we too long for the Dharma to quench our spiritual thirst. When the rain falls in abundance, there is hope that the waters will suffice to sustain all life. In our own lives, when we feel dry and weary, we must seek the nourishment of the Buddha’s teachings to restore our vitality.

Finding Light in the Depths of Despair

When life feels grey and shrouded in darkness, we naturally hope for the Buddha’s assistance. Yet, we must remember that while we must strive to save ourselves, the Buddha’s power is always there to support us. If you ever feel that you have fallen into the depths of despair, do not lose heart. As a child of the Buddha, you must never forget the path. No matter what happens, the Buddha and your teachers are always with you. Practitioner Su remains by your side, never abandoning you. With every recitation of the Buddha-name, Namo Amituofo protects you. Do not let yourself be consumed by sorrow or weep in isolation.

The Steady Path to the Western Pure Land

The Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is a place where the Western Pure Land manifests in this human world. Do not let go of this connection, lest you wander into dangerous paths. Even in the midst of hopelessness, the Buddha-light shines upon you, and all earthly creatures receive this grace. By transforming danger into safety, a heart of blessings will arrive. Keep your goal before you and advance with steady, grounded steps. Let every step be guided by Faith, Vows, and Practice. Let every sound of the Buddha-name be a call to Namo Amituofo. May the temple be established on this land soon, radiating infinite light and infinite life. The Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss awaits your return.
