The Wandering Spirit

The wind rises. Dust fills the sky, scattering in all directions. Where does it come to rest? Once, you possessed a human body; now, you are dust. Once, you possessed a human body; now, you are the wind. All are spirits. These forms of wind and dust—how long have they lasted? You can return to the source. The original Buddha-nature is eternal and never extinguished.

Returning to the Eternal Source

If you are the wind, you dwell within the wind. If you are the dust, you dwell within the dust. These states cover your Buddha-nature, leaving it hidden and unseen. Through the connection of Fragrant Light, the space opens. Spirits in the wind, spirits in the dust, spirits in the earth—layer upon layer of spirits, fold upon fold of spirits. Emerge from this space and behold the Buddha-light.

Breaking Free from the Cycle of Forms

At this very moment, cast off your dusty body. The body of wind, the body of water, the body of clouds, the body of sustenance; the bodies of cattle, sheep, and horses; the body of the kangaroo; the bodies of animals; the bodies of flowers, grasses, and trees; the bodies of plants—immeasurable and boundless bodies. At this moment, cast them off and return to your original state.
