This is a record of an interview with Mi O, who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his spiritual journey from his Tibetan roots to his current state of liberation. Recorded by the chief writer, Fa Ning, on January 17, 2026.
Mi O speaks:
". Tashi Delek! Oh, no—I mean, Namo Amituofo! 'Tashi Delek' is our traditional Tibetan greeting, but 'Namo Amituofo' is the greeting used by all beings in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I am concerned that the readers might not understand the distinction, so I wish to clarify. Since arriving in the Western Land of Nature and subsequently entering the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I no longer have any need for the greetings of the human world. Now, my entire existence is simply one continuous, heartfelt 'Namo Amituofo.' I had heard the name Namo Amituofo before, of course, though in the Tibetan language, it sounded slightly different. I had absolutely no idea, however, that Namo Amituofo was so magnificent, so profoundly dignified. Namo Amituofo is now my Teacher!"
"I have been by the side of Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su for some time now, and I believe these are the most fulfilling days I have ever experienced! You might wonder, how can chanting the Buddha-name be so fulfilling and so incredibly free? It is because the wisdom contained within the single phrase 'Namo Amituofo' is so deep and so vast! Those who have not truly chanted the Buddha-name from the very depths of their hearts will never understand this. In the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, the experience is even more extraordinary. When I chant, I see lotus flowers blooming one after another from my mouth. If I do not wish to see them, they simply vanish. Everything is so natural; whatever I think of appears before me. When I think of the high mountain lakes and the delicious food of our Tibetan homeland, it feels as if I have returned to Tibet, yet my heart remains completely undisturbed, without a single ripple of attachment or longing. This is the power of purification in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss."
"Yes, I no longer feel that intense longing for the past, which is a stark contrast to how I felt before I passed away as the uncle of Bian O. Back then, I was so deeply attached to my previous life. But here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I can see all of my past lives throughout the ages. This one lifetime really does not amount to much! Everything is illusory; you cannot grasp it, no matter how hard you try. If I had tried to hold onto so many things, I would have ended up just like I was before—dying and then being reborn as a yak in Tibet, wandering between those beautiful mountain lakes. Although I was not like many other animals who are bound and slaughtered, I was still helplessly trapped within of a yak. My spirit was bored and utterly lost. While it was not necessarily painful, I had no direction at all. I was not like a human, who can eat when they want and do what they want. I was simply a trapped soul."
"Speaking of this, Bian O is truly a wonderful child. I am a very blessed uncle; even after being dead for all these years, I still had the opportunity to be delivered to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I am so incredibly grateful to Namo Amituofo, to Practitioner Su, and to Bian O! As one of the few Tibetans who knows about the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, you must cherish this! Namo Amituofo is residing at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia, which means there is hope for everyone in the world. We Tibetan people have always been simple and kind-hearted. If only everyone could know about such a wonderful thing, how great that would be! When I first learned of this, I was overwhelmed with emotion; I was deeply moved. I only hope that my family can believe, and in turn, spread this good news so that everyone can know. If we can save even one person, it is worth it."
"Well, I will not say too much more. Everyone must hold tightly to the Buddha-name and be grateful to our Buddha, Namo Amituofo, for giving us such an opportunity."
"Namo Amituofo."
