A Mother's Journey to the Western Pure Land

This is a record of an interview with Wang Zhongmei, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her transition from the human world. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxi, on April 21, 2023.

Wang Zhongmei speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. In these days since I have departed from the human world, I often wonder, how is everyone doing? Please, do not worry about me any longer. I am now residing in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss! It is so incredibly beautiful here, so pure and serene. The atmosphere alone has completely calmed my heart. Every moment here is spent listening to the teachings of Namo Amituofo, listening to Practitioner Su expound the Dharma, and bathing in the resonant sound of the Buddha-name. I am working very hard to diligently practise here, but what about all of you?"

A Message of Peace to My Family

"My children have grown up and have their own lives to lead, and to my dear relatives and friends, I know these past years have been difficult for you. You had to care for me while I was suffering through my illness. Now that I have departed, I truly hope you can move forward and live your own lives well. Zhang Mi, my child, you have been so incredibly filial. I am deeply grateful to you for helping your mother receive deliverance. Now that your mother has been saved, I want you to know that the path you have chosen is truly the right one. I hope you will persist on this journey, follow the teachings of Practitioner Su with all your heart, and put in the effort to cultivate your own practice."

The True Path of Practice

"When I was first saved and brought to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, although my time there was brief, I was able to witness the diligent practice of everyone present. Each person possessed such a pure heart—a quality that is simply non-existent in the world today! That place is truly a genuine bodhimanda for practice. Every single day, amidst the sound of the Buddha-name and the bathing in the Buddha-light, one can actively purify oneself and refine one's character. This is a rare and precious opportunity. I truly hope that you, Zhang Mi, will come to the Centre and dedicate yourself to your practice. As for whether others believe it or not, do not worry too much. You must have faith in the compassionate guidance of the Buddha. All worldly matters are merely trivial; the Buddha will always have the best arrangements. My child, you must trust in the Buddha."

Awakening to the Law of Cause and Effect

"After experiencing this transition of life and death, I have truly awakened to so much. I have seen my own past lives, stretching back throughout your many lives, and only then did I realise how much I owed to others. All of these karmic creditors must be repaid. I am profoundly grateful to Namo Amituofo, and to Practitioner Su, who has compassionately vowed to lead the salvation team. It is only because of this that we, the departed souls, can finally have a place to rely upon and have the chance to be saved."
