A Father's Journey to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss

This is a record of an interview with Lay Practitioner Zhong Weitang, who sought Chao Du at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his transition to the Pure Land. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxin, on February 28, 2025.

Lay Practitioner Zhong Weitang speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Zhong Weitang. I am so deeply grateful to the Buddha and Bodhisattvas for their boundless compassion, which has allowed me to settle peacefully here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. It is a grace beyond words to be able to speak to you from this place of eternal light."

A World Beyond Imagination

"Before this, I had absolutely no idea that such a magnificent place could exist. Now, this wondrous realm is right before my eyes. Since arriving in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, it feels as if every single one of my past afflictions has simply vanished into thin air. The beauty of this place is so profound that no matter where I look, I find myself wanting to linger, to take it all in. Every corner of this land brings such an incredible, deep sense of peace to my heart. It is a serenity I never knew was possible during my time in the human realm."

A Daughter's Gift of Deliverance

"I am profoundly grateful to my daughter, Lay Practitioner Zhong Jinfeng. It was through the Causal Conditions of the Chao Du ceremony that she led me to this beautiful place. To be honest, my heart had always yearned for a world of peace and beauty, and now that I have finally reached it, I am truly overjoyed! I cannot express how happy I am to have found this sanctuary. It is truly the home I never knew I was searching for."

"Initially, my heart was filled with hesitation and fear. I was terrified that a world after such a transformation would be vastly different from what I knew, and I was afraid of losing the things I held dear. But now that I have truly arrived in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I realise that everything here is far more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. I am so thankful to the Buddha, and I am so thankful to Practitioner Su for the guidance that made this possible."

A Message to My Family

"I have never been a person who is good at expressing my feelings, but I want my family to know that I am doing well so that you can all be at ease. Everything is wonderful here, and since arriving in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, my spirit has become brighter and more radiant with each passing moment. There is no more pain, no more worry, and no more of the heavy burdens I carried for so long."

"To my family, it would be a lie to say that I have no attachment to you at all. But now, I can no longer be with you in the way I once was. I only hope that you will all take good care of yourselves. Please, do not worry about me, for I have found the ultimate peace."

"The Buddha has saved me, and I am filled with gratitude. I hope that you, too, will keep the Buddha in your hearts. Plant a seed of the Buddha within you; when that seed sprouts in the future, you will recognise the Buddha, believe in the Buddha, and be able to come to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss to reunite with me. Whenever you miss me, just think of the Buddha. I hope that your futures will all be smooth and auspicious. Thank you."
